Preparation: Planed with grooves on both sides.
Fixing: Screwed and plugged. Assembled with loose tongues. The boards are supplied untreated. Every board is carefully checked, and damaged knots, if any, are repaired. The boards are of European Douglas, and the trees are between 90 and 120 years old. Each board is made as wide as it can be. Like the main stem, the boards are wider at the root end than at the top end. The boards are laid root against top, which gives a beautiful and characteristic floor. This is the way in which floors have been laid, simply and beautifully, for hundreds of years.
