Dinesen Oak is made of European oak (Quercus robur L.) from selected European forests. The trees are up to two hundred years old and have been nurtured for many generations according to the best principles of forestry. The sawing of the logs for the various Dinesen floors depends on the size of the log and the number of knots. The oldest, thickest logs are used for the 30-mm floors, and the somewhat younger, slightly smaller logs are used for the 22-mm floors. Both thicknesses are made in several widths and grades.
Dinesen manufactures floor planks on contract only. This enables us to take account of individual preferences that depart from our usual grades and dimensions. The delivery time for the various dimensions and grades varies and may in some instances be long.
Although Dinesen’s production process is technically modern, our strong foundation is the dedication of our staff. We sort the planks according to colour and knot prevalence, as well as other characteristics conditional on growth. Any knot cracks/knotholes are repaired using a special knot glue. DinesenNatural Oak has the most repairs.
