The centre of the trunk contains virtually the complete history of the tree and yields authentic floorboards. These floorboards feature everything the heart desires in terms of nature and vitality, and we have carefully processed the floorboards to preserve their unspoilt, powerful expression. As a particularly elegant detail, heartwood cracks are held in place using beautiful oak dovetail joints. Planed with tongue and groove, end match and kerfs on the underside of the boards. They are fixed with screws and plugs. Lengthwise, the floorboards are end matched.

The large logs make it possible for us to continuously set aside especially wide floorboards for special purposes. The floorboards have few knots and are pure heartwood on the top side. Knot cracks and minor knotholes are repaired using knot glue. They have a natural colour variation and a calm structure. The floorboards are planed with tongue and groove, end match and kerfs on the underside of the boards. They are fixed with screws and plugs. Lengthwise, the floorboards are end matched.

Each floorboard is made as wide as the raw wood allows. The floorboards follow the shape of the trunk – wider near the root end than at the crown. The floorboards are laid root against crown, resulting in an elegant, distinctive room. The floorboards have few knots and are pure heartwood on the top side. The floorboards are fixed with screws and plugs. Joined with loose tongues.

As Dinesen manufactures on contract only, floorboards can be made in individual dimensions that are not specified in this price list.
